My fellow gamblers, good evening. Thursday night demonstrates why you don't bet against Belichick at home. I have it on good authority they're going to select a random fan to start next week. It might even be from the opposing team's fan base, and I'll still be taking the Patriots against the spread. Even though we won that bet, we still don't get paid unless Sunday night comes through for us as well. I do have a few other plays for tomorrow and some special action for Monday.

My fellow gamblers, good evening. Not a good week, going 2-3 and losing out of the survivor pools week 2 is nowhere close to what I wanted. The big swing game was Detroit giving up that late touchdown to lose to Tennessee. If you told me ahead of time though that the game would come down to a 4th and 5 in which Mariota would have to complete a pass under pressure into double coverage, I'd still take the bet. Such is gambling.
I mentioned I'd go over a few good guidelines for teaser bets, and since I'm planning on doing another teaser bet today, now seems like a good time. My fellow gamblers, good evening. I was in such a rush to introduce myself last time I totally skipped exactly what sports gambling is. Some of you may have some experience in the area, but I want everyone to be able to read, discuss, and even question what I write here and it's tough to do that without at least knowing some basic terms. That means I won't put quite the same level of detail into my reasoning on my picks for tomorrow, but we've got all season for that.
My fellow gamblers, good evening. Estimates say that up to $90 billion dollars will be wagered on football during its season. That's including the NFL, the NCAAF, fantasy football, survivor pools, and side bets between friends in bars. Even if you're not betting money, we all watch sports, so we're gambling with our emotions just by being fans. I'm here to help guide you through a portion of that.
To introduce myself a little further: I'm a semi-professional poker player with a background in statistics, I helped found and still moderate a sports betting forum with over 20,000 subscribers (https://www.reddit.com/r/sportsbook), and I've known Spooner for over ten years now, so I'm happy to take a role as this blog's gambler-in-residence. |
AuthorWelcome! My name is Chris Spooner. I am an overly-passionate Dolphins fan who has many opinions about his team, and the sports landscape as a whole. I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I enjoy voicing them. Archives
