My fellow gamblers, good evening. I would tell you how disappointed I am in myself that I bet against Brady and Bill, but it's tough to say anything negative about a 7-2 week. I told you I was upset about missing the Thursday night game and that I really loved the card last weekend. I'm glad I could back that up with a simply incredible week. Even though I joke about it, it is still crucial to take a critical look at your individual games even if the overall week was good. Betting against the Pats might be something I have to refrain from doing the rest of the season. Their 'middle finger to the world' tour just seems too powerful. It was a 7-1 weekend, but failing to examine that one could prevent additional one-loss weekends down the road. Season Record: Overall (27-16-1) Spread (16-9-1) Total (6-2) Teaser (5-5) Another way to completely ruin an amazing weekend is to take that money, think you're a genius, and go crazy with bets at the next opportunity. Trust me, I have done that one before. That said, I have no play for this Thursday night game. I looked at every angle with either the Falcons or the Buccaneers. Both have been up and down over the last three games.
I wasn't impressed at all with Tampa being given an enormous number of opportunities against Oakland committing the NFL record in penalties and still pulling out the OT win. Tampa is also 0-5 against the spread at home over their last five. As I learned last Thursday though, betting against the home team on a short week is a bad decision. Similarly I could make a convincing case to bet either over or under 51. I'll be back with more picks for Sunday, but for now I'm just going to take a little longer to enjoy the lingering buzz from last weekend. It's my favorite high in the world, being paid to be right.
